The 34-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds around 4:20 a.m. at the Courtyard Marriot located at 10701 Battleview Pkwy in Manassas, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

The victim was treated at the scene before being brought to an area hospital, where he is expected to survive, police said.

Investigators say the man and an acquaintance were in the hotel parking lot when shots were fired, striking the victim.

The other person fled prior before police arrived, they said.

Though shell casings were discovered in the parking lot, no additional injuries or property damage were found, police said.

An investigation into the shooting, which police say was not random, remains ongoing.
